DCYF and MNIT Announce County and Tribal Nation Participants for the M2M Pilot

The Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) and Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) are pleased to announce the county and Tribal Nation partners selected to participate in the MNbenefits to MAXIS (M2M) Integration Pilot. This pilot is an important step in our shared effort to reduce time to benefits, reduce manual data entry, and improve the public assistance application and enrollment experience for county and Tribal Nation staff, applicants, and people who support them.

This effort set out to establish a pilot with a small number of agencies to help us build, test, experiment and evaluate a new interface tool that supports the secure, accurate and efficient transfer of data from the MNbenefits online public assistance application to the MAXIS eligibility determination system.

Following the request for participants issued in May, DCYF and MNIT reviewed responses from 16 interested counties and Tribal Nations, with a goal of engaging partners from a diverse mix of sizes, technical environments, and operating models. We appreciate the enthusiastic interest and commitment to partnership statewide.

Selected Pilot Sites:

  • Beltrami County

  • Clay County

  • Hennepin County

  • LeSueur County

  • Ramsey County

  • Stearns County

  • Western Prairie Human Services

  • White Earth Nation

Pilot site onboarding will begin in the coming weeks. The pilot will test how things work, check data sharing and use feedback to make improvements. This partnership will help ensure that the user interface for the data integration is effective and informed by the staff at counties and Tribal Nations who use these tools in their daily work to process applications and determine eligibility for public assistance programs.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all counties and Tribal Nations that expressed interest in participating. Your partnership and engagement drive this important work.
