Introducing the 2025 SUN Bucks Program
SUN Bucks is an income-based food support program that provides families with $120 per eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out for the summer. SUN Bucks is a federally funded program administered by the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families and the Minnesota Department of Education.
The SUN Bucks program is expected to reduce food insecurity for more than 490,000 Minnesotan children this summer. New SUN Bucks cards will be mailed to families in late May through September 2025. The benefits can be used at grocery stores, farmers markets and other retailers that accept EBT cards.
This site contains SUN Bucks materials schools and partnering organizations can use to spread the word about SUN Bucks, and answer questions from families. Please see the right column for these resources.
